Capacity Canada Selects Axonify eLearning Platform for Charitable Sector

Posted on: April 23, 2016

WATERLOO REGION, ON, July 22, 2015. Capacity Canada has selected Axonify, a leading eLearning solution provider, to deliver more effective learning for volunteers joining the boards of charitable not-for-profit organizations.

The eLearning platform will help educate volunteers on a vast number of separate but complementary responsibilities of boards and administrations to ensure they have the knowledge they need to make valuable contributions.

This is the first use of eLearning for Capacity, a non-profit organization that provides services to support other charitable non-profits. It is also the first time Axonify has delivered training through its eLearning platform to the charitable sector.

“Organizations are stronger and more innovative when led by well-trained boards,” said Cathy Brothers, Capacity’s chief executive officer. “Good training also means volunteers get a more rewarding experience out of their board work. Their contributions are more informed and impactful.”

Based in Waterloo, Axonify is a leader in the eLearning space. The company’s eLearning platform uses brain science and gamification to help employees learn and retain information more effectively—whether they are using a desktop computer, POS system or smartphone. Clients include Walmart, Johnson & Johnson and Bloomingdale’s.

Employees complete daily training sessions in short, bite-sized bursts on their own schedules. Gamification builds in amusing, mildly competitive elements as employees track their own progress and see how they measure up against their colleagues. Points and prizes can be added as incentives.

“We are delighted to see our revolutionary approach to learning, which has proved so successful with our for-profit clients, move into the non-profit sector to help charitable organizations operate more effectively,” said Carol Leaman, Axonify’s president and chief executive officer. “When you equip people with the right knowledge, they are able to make well-informed decisions that will, ultimately, lead to increased success.”

Capacity Canada expects to begin using the eLearning platform this fall with Manulife employees enrolled in MatchBoard, a Capacity program that links employees to volunteer positions on charitable non-profit boards.

Capacity Canada is a national registered charity that brings together the ideas, people and resources that fuel social innovation.  Our vision is to change lives through courageous community organizations that excel.  We are accomplishing this by providing non-profit leaders new resources and professional support that enhances leadership skills, stimulates cross-sector collaboration, promotes knowledge sharing, and encourages social innovation.

The Axonify platform enables organizations to easily engage employees in the learning process through the delivery of personalized, bite-sized content in the form of daily questions and information in topic areas those organizations care about. Using concepts of behavioral science combined with gamification, Axonify is proven to improve sales and service levels, reduce safety incidents and other areas of loss, and support employee performance across the board. The system creates a real-time, personalized knowledge map, employee by employee, which identifies and closes individual knowledge gaps. Participation and success rates are measured and correlated to specific corporate outcomes that drive revenue or reduce expenses. Axonify is your simpler way to a smarter company, every day.
